Launching a new Prepr

On Monday 5th November the new Prepr design is released. This update contains a lot of improvements to the on-air timeline, messages (previously called reactions), the news section and a host of other enhancements.

Over the past few months, we updated the Prepr design, resulting in a more usable interface. And we optimized the underlying code making sure pages load blazingly fast.

The most visible improvement is the new top navigation. We provided a mega drop-down menu for an excellent overview of all the available options. And shortcuts to the most used features. And this is only the beginning. Stay tuned for some exciting new features shortly...

Another significant change is the addition of a meta-information section for timeline items. You now see a light-gray bar on the right side of timeline items. This bar contains additional information without getting in the way of the presenter. Also, the width of the content area is optimized for optimal on-screen reading.

If you have any questions or comments regarding the update, please contact your Prepr consultant.

From now on Prepr will use the Program schedule as the primary schedule for generating timelines. Before today the basis for the timelines was your clock schedule. For a lot of our users this was a very complicated process in getting the right timeline for the right program.

Today we are releasing a new Poll feature in Prepr. The Poll gives you the option to send out a question to your listeners and let them vote for the answers by using sms, whatsapp, app messages, web messages and email.

Together with the new Poll feature we add a new API endpoint for voting on the Poll. This makes it easy to integrate the poll options into your own app or website.

2018-05-15 15.13.02.jpg Starting today Prepr has a new Music library feature. The libary contains all Tracks and Artist that a station has played on-air. In the library a station can now manage the meta-data of played Tracks and Artists.

For Tracks the artists, cover-art, tags and description can be edited.

For Artists the biography, the summary of the bio and the artist cover image can be managed.

Our new Music-Id platform will try to match the Tracks and Artists to some various online services to improve the meta-data. Tracks are matched to Musicbrainz, Spotify and Apple Music, while Artists are matched on Musicbrainz, Lastfm, Twitter and Instagram.

Now Playing

With this new structure in place, all playlist tracks will now be available under the new label TrackPlay. Subscribing to the webhook publication_published will update you when a track becomes on-air.

Due to re-indexing processing, artist info in timeline will not be available during the next 24 hours.

To continuously improve our platform speed and security, we are making the following changes effective on 2018-06-01. We understand that this may affect your business or services.

The old images resizing service available on will be deprecated. We recommend switching to our new Images service.

Today we are excited to announce the launch of Mediaconnect Webhooks; a configurable webhook integration that replicates data from our APIs directly to your back ends. Connect your company’s email service provider, cache server, website management system, and more.

The webhook delivery system is built on top of our API. Whenever something interesting happens like a newly created or published publication, an asset that is uploaded or a change in a guide Mediaconnect will create an event. That event contains a event property, which tells you what kind of thing happened, and a payload property that contains the specifics of the resource that changed.

When you add a new callback url, Mediaconnect will start sending an HTTPS POST request to that URL on every event that you subscribed too. And we support having as many URLs as you want, which means you can mix and match multiple different services to respond to specified Mediaconnect events, which is a truly enabling tool. You can see a list of events in our docs.

Real time notifications for publication and asset events. Webhooks are retried a few times in an hour if your endpoint fails to respond with a 2xx status code. And you can verify the authenticity of a webhook by checking the Mediaconnect-Signature header.

Getting started

So, now that we've built it, you should start using it right away! You'll find all the information on webhooks in our docs.

Let us know how you think about the new feature, and have fun using our webhooks!

Update time: Monday March 5th, 23.00 CET.
